Mohammad Ali
Profile:
MohammedAli

Mohammad Ali is a socialist anti-war activist and Hip Hop artist working with the Toronto Coalition To Stop The War, the Toronto Haiti Action Committee and the War Resisters Support Campaign. His music is a product of grassroots political activism but by no means limited by it and features an eclectic sound which incorporates everything from hip hop beats to jazz, folk, blues, reggeaton, drum & bass, salsa, and the list goes on. Taking the concept of Edutainment to heart, and in the attempt to further the fusion between artistic expression and progressive education, he has taken to stages across Africa, Cuba, Ontario & Western Canada. Since March 2006, Ali has shared the stage with the likes of Propaghandi, Dub Trinity, Nick "Brownman" Ali, Pip Skid and yes even Jack Layton. Ali has recently helped to compile a CD project, Hands Off Haiti, featuring some of Canada and Haiti's top artists to raise funds for a grassroots education program in Haiti. His upcoming solo debut release, Such A Long Journey, is also a benefit project for US soldiers opposing the war in Iraq who seek refuge in Canada.
